EL CALVARI

Residencial El Calvari is situated on a small development of detached villas on the very outskirts of the traditional Spanish town of Pego. Being only 500m from the edge of the village it is just a short stroll. Perched on a small hillside which overlooks the village it provides for stunning views all around. Whichever way you look there are mountains, the wide valley floor and in fact distant sea views beyond the village. From every plot you look out over terrace upon terrace of citrus groves.

Pego, a traditional Spanish town, whilst seemingly lost in the passage of time is undergoing something of a renaissance. Many of the old townhouses are being refurbished and modern boulevards and water features are springing up on the outer edges of the town. The old town itself is an absolute joy with its beautiful church and bell tower, ornately decorated townhouses, open squares with street cafes and the narrow streets, almost too narrow for today’s modern traffic.

Pego may feel miles inland but with good road connections it is only a 10 minute ride to the coast lying between Oliva and Els Poblets, with the lively town of Denia not much further distance. For nature lovers you are ideally placed at the entrances to the Vall d´Ebo and Vall de Gallinera or close to the Parque Natural of Marjal Pego-Oliva. For golf lovers the Oliva Nova golf course is close by and, what will be a tremendous boon to the area, it is reported that the construction of a new 18 hole course is due to commence during 2005 just on the outskirts of Pego.
